ABOUT
In a short period, musical multitalent Tariq Pijning became one of the biggest upcoming saxophone players in the Dance industry worldwide. In his early twenties, Tariq already became an indispensable name among live Dance acts. With his smooth melodies and spot-on timing, Tariq is one of the few saxophone players who exactly know what it takes to lift the musical quality to a higher level. Since he joined forces with Dutch superstar Sam Feldt in 2016, both on stage and in the studio, Tariq found himself maintaining an astonishing international tour schedule, playing sold-out shows at the biggest clubs and festivals around the world, including stages like the mainstage of both Ultra Miami and Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Mysteryland and many more. As if playing the saxophone wasn’t enough, Tariq also added the piano to his live touring setup with Sam Feldt, proving himself to be a true multi-instrumentalist. Currently his tour schedule covers a variety of projects in different genres, both in the Dance industry (Klingande) and in horn sections for several acts (Lauryn Hill in Ahoy, Rotterdam 2024 / Treasure - Tribute to Bruno Mars in Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam 2025).
Besides playing the saxophone and the piano, Tariq proves to have a talent for writing and producing songs as well. Since his collaboration with Sam Feldt, he already showed his skills writing melodies for songs like "Where's My Love" and recording sax parts for hits like “Sensational", “Gold” and KSHMR’s “Ready to Love”. The real opportunity to prove himself as a producer arose in 2019, when he got to remix Tropical House King Kygo’s worldwide hit “Stargazing”. Tariq’s 80s power ballad version of the mega hit turned out to be a success, reaching 1,000,000 streams within 2 weeks. In 2022, Tariq got another big opportunity to work with vocals from one of the biggest Pop legends ever, producing Whitney Houston’s “Don’t Cry For Me” with Sam Feldt, as a soundtrack for the singer’s documentary “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”.
Tariq's wide musical knowledge, combined with his experience as a musician, artist, entertainer, producer and composer, makes him a musical all-rounder and an indispensable name among live acts in the dance industry. Wherever Tariq shares his magic, music rises to a whole new level. With rhythmic and melodic influences from jazz, funk, soul and rnb, mixed with modern pop music, Tariq always knows to play the right tones, at the right moments.
